On January 14, C&C held its annual Meet the Grads event. Alumni from C&C who are currently in high school get to share their experiences about their time at C&C and their transition to high school.

This year’s alumni included Lucy M-N, Tori B, Giacomo C, Sam B, Suniva A, Ellaya R, Tabitha B, and Lorretta B. This year's event was hosted by Trayshia Rodgers, XIIIs Group Teacher, and Tyler Tarnowicz, former XIIIs Teacher. The alumns represented a wide range of schools including Dalton, Brooklyn Friends, and Saint Anns.

“If you know what it's like to be a teacher, you also understand how important moments like this are…where we actually have the luxury to not only have taught these wonderful students…but also have the opportunity to hear back from them years later,” said Tyler Tarnowicz, Associate Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

The first question asked during the event was to describe one of their fondest memories of C&C. Answers included being on the Debate Team, writing for the XIIIs Newspaper, and learning history from C&C’s extensive and detailed history classes.

The second question asked was about the high school application process. One of the main takeaways from it was that it helped prepare for the college application process.

The third question was about the process of adjusting to high school after getting accepted. The most important difference was getting grades. The graduates found that the best way to adjust to that change was to keep working hard without worrying about them.

The Meet the Grads event highlights the strong and connected community of C&C. When students of different ages gather together to discuss their experiences, they show the positive impact that our school has on lives.
