Discover what 9-year-old entrepreneurs do with $2.1k, sweat equity, and ingenuity.
It starts with a typical business school question. How might we launch and manage a school store to best serve the needs of our community?
City and Country fourth graders take on a big challenge with a small budget every year. Armed with a $2,100 loan, these nine-year-olds launch and run a fully operational store, supplying their peers, teachers, and staff with essentials. They decide what to stock, compare prices, market, track sales, and assess their year-end performance. Along the way, they sharpen their critical thinking, teamwork, and financial know-how, all while learning how their work impacts the whole community. It’s more than just a crash course in economics—it’s a hands-on, real-world education that equips them with skills and values for life.
