Application Process: 2s - 4s Groups

The birthday cut-off date for children applying to the 2s and 3s is August 1; for all other Groups at C&C, the cut-off date is October 1.

Submitting an Application

Families are welcome to submit their completed application form between Tuesday, September 6 and December 1, 2011. It is not necessary to call the School the first day after Tuesday, September 6!

Families can chose to apply online, or download an application form and mail it to us.

Attention 2s and 4s Applicants

2s: Because of an unusually high number of sibling applications, we have already received the number of 2s applications that we can process for the 2012-2013 school year. Going forward, if you remain interested in City and Country, we encourage you to apply again next year, as we do anticipate continued openings at the 3s level.

4s: Because we do not anticipate any openings for 4s for 2012-13, all 4s applications that we receive will be placed on hold and activated only if openings occur.

Parent Visits to the School

Once we receive your application, the Admissions Office will contact you to schedule a morning C&C Info Session. This visit will give you a thorough look at our school, including a presentation about our program, a tour of our campus and a mingling session with current parents. It generally takes us 3 weeks to contact you after receiving your completed application.

Our annual Open House will be on Wednesday, November 9, 2011, from 6:00 – 8:00pm. If you are scheduled for an Info Session, you do not need to attend the Open House. The Open House is for families who apply after our daytime Info Sessions are fully booked, or for those who’d like to see the School before applying. Please know that Info Sessions tend to fill quickly; if we receive your application after all admissions events are booked, we will be happy to consider your application, but we cannot guarantee that we will be able to schedule a tour for you.

Admissions Lottery and Child Visits

In order to manage the number of applications that we receive, we will be narrowing the applicant pool by using a lottery system. At the end of December, we will contact applicant families and notify them of their status. Families will either receive an invitation to a playgroup in February or a letter inviting them to re-apply in a later year. We would love to be able to see everyone who applies to C&C, but this is the method that works to reduce the applications to a reasonable number.

A special note about our application form:

We hope to make the application process manageable and minimally stressful. Our application has several open-ended questions that will help us to get to know you and your child. Please know that we expect only a couple of sentences as answers for these questions. Our goal is to make the best match that we can between a family and the School, and your answers help us to know if we have what you are looking for. Of course, we also keep in mind our goal of creating a diverse and balanced population.
